Visual Journals

I have been wanting for some time to start a journal/sketchbook, experiment book for different techniques and ideas. I have dabbled with this idea before but just never really had the swing of it. In the past I was working at it like a project I had to complete. I would become obsessed with having to "finish" it all in one setting. This way just never worked for me I always had other things to do and the journal work just did not fit in my schedule. I am now working on a different approach. I am trying just to work with it here and there with no real focus in mind. So far this has been working out really well for me and I am finding that I am really enjoying it.

I found several interesting blogs dealing with visual journals. Here are a couple that I really enjoyed. A Girl and Her Journal on her blog she has some great instructional videos that I found really simplified the process. She has one that has a list of supplies that she uses which is quite helpful if you are just getting started and don't already have supplies or have any idea what to use. Another blog that I found is Magical Musings there are several pages of her visual journals there and also some tutorials for altered books.
